Fresh Cut Flowers:
If your flowers are arranged in a floral foam, all you have to do is add room temperature water daily. You may add floral preservatives to the water even in floral foam.
If your flowers are in a vase, re-cut flowers and change water daily if not using a floral preservative. If you are using the preservative, follow the package instructions.
Place arrangement in a cool location and away from heat and drafts.
Foliage Plants:
Foliage plants grow better if you give them proper light, suitable temperature, adequate moisture and a little plant food. Place plant near a window that receives good light during part of the day. Temperature should be 60 to 65 degrees at night and 70 to 80 during the day. Keep the soil moist, when it becomes dry to the touch add enough water to wet the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot, draining any excess water. Since the amount of nutrients in a small pot is limited, small amounts of plant food are desirable every three to four weeks.
Blooming Plants:
Flowering plants need good light, moderate temperature, reasonable humidity, uniform soil, and a little fertilizer on occasion. During winter they need all the natural light your home can provide. Most blooming plants need nighttime temperatures of 50 to 60 degrees and daytime temperatures of 70 to 80. Keep the room as humid as possible. When soil becomes dry to the touch wet the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot. Adding plant food every five to eight weeks will help your plant flourish.
